Araucana Lodge is an ecological hotel where we strive to minimize environmental impacts, protecting and managing our natural resources such as forests and watersheds that are part of the property. We are committed to promoting the four pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, economic and cultural. Araucana Lodge complies with Colombian regulations that protect people and the environment and we will notify the authorities when our visitors or employees do not comply with them. Some of the ways we aim to protect the environment include: recycling, reducing single-use plastics, capturing rain water, composting our organic waste and using energy saving room keys. The ways we support our community include employment generation and trainings/professional development for children and adults in the area. We support local food producers to supply our kitchen and we hire local artisans and artists to decorate our spaces.
