At Araucana, caring for our guests begins with caring for the place around us. The forests, water, gardens, and our community are all part of one living ecosystem—and each has a place in how we practise hospitality.

Forests and water

We work to protect and manage the forests and watersheds on our property. Rainwater collected from the lodge roof is stored in a tank.

Everyday care

We recycle, reduce single-use plastics, and compost our organic waste. Energy-saving room keys are another part of our daily efforts to reduce our impact.

Rooted in community

Local producers supply our kitchen, while artisans and artists from the region help shape our spaces. We support local employment, along with training and professional development for children and adults in the area.

A shared responsibility

Our commitment embraces environmental, social, economic, and cultural responsibility. We comply with Colombian regulations that protect people and the environment, and report non-compliance by visitors or employees to the authorities.
